Have you thought about why we roll on our oils in certain locations?
Emotions involve many systems in the body, including the brain, the sensory system, the endocrine/hormonal system, the autonomic nervous system, the immune system, and the release or inhibition of neurotransmitters (such as dopamine) in the brain. Essential oils and their components have the ability to affect each one of these systems, making them an effective tool for helping to balance emotions in the human body.

Desiree Mangandog, the author of the book,“I am Fabulous” blends for emotional well-being shares some incredible info. I've added my own experience & information throughout.

Locations of application:
•Inside the elbow creases: a beautiful spot for emotional well-being. The lung, pericardium (membrane enclosing the heart) and heart channels through the elbow crease. When applied here, the oils quickly enter the lungs and heart. You’ll experience the sensation of your chest opening and feeling lighter when you apply blends here.
.
•Inside of wrist crease: the lung, pericardium and heart also run through the wrist crease. Oils applied here move quickly to the chest.
.
•Inside forearms: roll up and down the inside of the forearms- both sides- to have oils circulate quickly throughout the body. Many veins are close to skin here so the oils enter the bloodstream rapidly. Best location to instantly create change in emotional state.
.
•Back of neck or spine: the river of your body, apply here when you need mental clarity. A quick way for oils to enter the brain.
.
•Over the heart area: anahata chakra, on the sternum, between the breast. Apply here when dealing with heartache and disappointment.
.
•Over the throat pit: vishuddhi chakra, the convergent of communication (both speech & listening). Apply here for all matters of relationships.
.
•On the lips: to remind you to speak honestly, sweetly (rose & coconut oil). Recite, "May I speak kindly."
.
•Around the eyes: to enhance clairvoyance & clarity.
.
•On the hands: to encourage abundance of giving & receiving. Inhale from hands: one inhale sends the aromatic compounds to the brain and shifts entire chemistry. Every blend can be used this way. Recite, "May my hands give gently."
.
•Around belly button: manipura chakra, apply oils here for an increase in immune system function or oils related to protection and boundaries.
.
•Up and down midline of belly: swadhistana chakra, apply oils here that are related to self-worth and self- confidence. This area has many serotonin receptors that contribute to feelings of happiness and self-esteem.
.
•Bottoms of feet: the preferred location when you need calmness or grounding.
