Yoga by the Sea classes start next week. If you are interested please read the following;
I'm teaching a combination of classes to suit the various needs of students. All classes include yogasana, mudras, bandhas, pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra.
1. Beginners - a class for every yoga students. Yogasanas in this group include; the pawanmuktasana series, eye exercises, relaxation, pre-meditation and meditation poses, asanas from vajrasana, standing asana, surya and chandra namaskara.
2. Beginners Progressive. In this class students are required to have been practicing yoga for over two years.
3. Progressive - for students who are able to handle holding positions for longer with greater stillness, those who can perform most asanas with little discomfort or strain. These asanas require a greater degree of steadiness, concentration and co-ordination of the breath. They work on a deeper level of the body and more towards anandamaya kosha, the subtle layers of the body. Included in this group are yogasanas performed from padmasana, backward and forward bending, spinal twisting, inverted and balancing asanas.
4. Spritual Mothering - Obaitori. Conducted monthly; free, all welcome, see here for dates.
5. Individualised Yoga Programmes - these are done privately. They involve several assessments based on Health and Well-being. Your individual yoga program identifies your ambitions and perceived needs for improved health and well-being. The emphasis of this program is on assessing your needs and ambitions relating to five health based parameters: body composition, muscle strength, muscle endurance, muscle flexibility and cardiovascular function. Also included in your programme are the needs and ambitions for your emotional, mental and spiritual health and development. Once this information is gathered, together we will devise your own individualised yoga programme. This might include, asana, pranayama, meditation, relaxation techniques, japa, chanting, psychic symbol, walking, swimming, ayurvedic techniques, yogic lifestyle, pujas, havan, yoga nidra.... After the initial assessments, the programme is devised, followed through for the prescribed weeks and an extensive evaluation completes the programme. Support throughout your programme is available via email, a private class a week and telephone support.
