At Obaitori we encourage, support & challenge ourselves & others as we continue to walk steadfastly on our chosen spiritual path.
The group is non-denominational & openly accepts all peoples beliefs.
We accept that you might have a teacher, teachings pertaining to that teacher & a community, a multifaceted belief system or none of these.
Generally speaking, within the group we learn about both Buddhism & yoga in their true form. That is, Buddhism as a philosophy & yoga as the science of life.
The Buddha's main teaching was the 'triple gem'. This is; the Buddha, the Dharma & the Sangha. The Buddha is our Buddhahood, the fact that we all have the possibility to unfold our ultimate potential. The Dharma is the teachings - the way. The Sangha is the spiritual community - the people who give us our support & encouragement to reach our determinations, our sankalpa
The Sangha, as an example, is Obaitori - a collection of beautiful, courageous, strong, passionate, women & men determined to be better people, to give their children, families & greater community an example of a more conscious level of living - a human revolution.
Obaitori is an example of the macrocosm of the sisterhood. There are groups of women everywhere who support & encourage each other. We listen to each other
& we are here for each other. Whether it be over the fence, school gate, yoga mat, telephone, email or formal gathering , wherever we meet, we can choose to offer Love, a listening ear, compassion, support & sincere encouragement.
Like the definition of the group we celebrate our beauty & diversity & this week I came across some cabbage flowers. I bought them home & they were literally embraced by the children. I photographed them with great joy & intrigue. & then, when choosing one to show you, I found this & I hope you like it.
Just as a spring breeze awakens tender new shoots of green, sincere encouragement can thaw a frozen heart and instill courage. It is the most powerful means to rejuvenate the human spirit ~ Ikeda.
