Breath, you are a vessel were my guiding words all weekend. I've had an emotional one - we went to auction for the house we have had our eye on for the past month - it was close and we won!
But that was not the start of the weekend. This was... cold, wet and dark
We celebrated my dear friend Amanda's birthday at Lizotte's with Rai Thistlethwayte from Thirsty Merc. Tucked up inside with a fine Shiraz and the locally Famous Rocket Salad, we laughed, danced and laughed even harder. I drove home in torrential rain with a big smile on my face and it seemed the rain didn't stop all night.
We woke to auction day. Bit scary. Breath. Dazla decided on going out for lunch. I happily followed knowing that it would help me to stay calm, focused and keep our minds off the auction.
I chanted for this house for about an hour a day, I petitioned Mary at Lourdes and also Amma, twice. Dazla had a little giggle, he doesn't think it is a good idea to chant for material things instead he believes that chanting for inner peace and enlightenment are things worthy of unfolding from one's life by chanting and through prayer. My perspective changed from I really want this house to; if this is our perfect home, we will get it. So my chanting evolved to acquiring absolute happiness. If the house is to be ours, so be it. If not I was able to look forward to the finding the perfect house around the corner. So I became content in this moment too, the only one I have.
So long story made short, the auction began, the sun came out, I kept breathing and mentally chanting nam myoho renge kyo. We were the first bidder and the last. Going once, going twice - any more bids? we will just ring the vendor to be sure - going three times, SOLD! We sat on the verandah to sign the contract, I kept breathing, quietly closed my eyes and said, thank you.
Thankfully we won't be moving in for another six months. We've time to sort, recycle, pack and buy a long wooden outdoor table - anyone? We are first time home buyers and it feels fantastic! I will remain ever grateful and humble that I will be able to do God's work in His fine house. Our home.
Sunday dawned a brilliant day, a little fuzzy thanks to Aunty Alicia and a certain bottle of champagne, yes it only takes one these days. We breakfasted on eggs, hash browns, tomatoes, pesto and toast, applied suncream and headed out to the beach and took a ride on a pink paddleboat.
Life is certainly interesting. You just never know what is going to be around the corner. Every morning and night I chant for everyone's absolute happiness and health - that's you - all 9 billion of you + plants, animals, planets, stars, the sun and all the moons. I truly believe that with faith, hope and the knowledge of benevolence I will always be happy because this is the choice I make.
A message for my children; dears, never let go of your dreams wherever they take you or how far away they seem.
I'm joining up with Amanda from Habit of Being for weekending.
I hope your weekend was fabulous. What did you do?
