I lost my knitting bag over 2 months ago and recently sluethed it out to the ashram student lounge where it was innocently, patiently and quietly waiting on a book shelf. Of course I had needles and wool in other places but my treasures, the ones of the material kind were tied up in the pink ribbons of that hand made knitting bag.
Inside, and the purple accessories bag contains some lovely little sentiments from my late maternal grandmother - a neat and very capable knitter - these are her counters, her tape measure and a bell needle gauge.
It needed some tlc and I polished it up a little with some bi-carb. The string that was at the top of the bell needed replacing too - do you think I could do it? Ordinarily yes but today this bit of old yellow twine, hand tied by my grandmother's own hands eludes me. Maybe I am a sentimental person after all.
And also in that bag was my gift from Margaret Bloom that I had won at the Rhythm of the Home giveaway. This tiny piece of delightful art, a pin cushion in the shape of a bird's nest. Thank you so much Margaret for this art work it is delicate and exquisite in it's beauty. Visit Margaret's blog, We Bloom Here and also read her gratitude Poem here at Rhythm of the Home.
So today, delighted in going through this bag of suprises, I pick up my knitting and start again. A simple book mark inspired by Angela, a perfect size, weight and temperature for our spring. My titanium neddles were found at an opportunity shop in the country for 50 cents a pair and I love the way they click!
I'm reading by Old Path White Clouds by Thich Nhat Hahn. This book is written as the Buddha's autobiography. It is Buddhism in detail written in a sublime story like fashion true to Thai's writing style, easy to read and a complete pleasure. I'm in reading bliss and I feel a gratitude prayer stirring from my heart.
Joining up with Ginny over at Yarn Along where the fabulous, inspiring knitters are to be found.
