We had a full, abundant weekend with family, friends, strangers - for our fun filled & successful garage sale, thank you to all who commented & inquired - more birthday celebrations & that beautiful anticipation of spring weather. Bodhi went swimming in the ocean which totally suprised me & as usual, Indira went in.
We picknicked high up on Kincumba Mountain & we joked about staying up there all week - we had enough food - & sleeping in the cave - which could easily hold two families.
We laughed, ate, drank red wine, played guitar, sang & the children collected fire wood for a bonfire, carefully selected sticks to toast marshmallows, played ball, ran around, did archery - practising concentration & focus. They also went for a 'ride' on a picnic rug - which was the highlight.
Reluctantly we left the mountain in the late afternoon but considered planning a spring overight stay in the cave. Aboriginals definitely lived in the cave. There is a space for a kitchen, a fire in the centre & a beautiful curved space behind that which could sleep 8 - 10 people. The front of the cave is quite sheltered with a balga black boy plant & a large rock which creates a sweet little doorway into the sandstone cave.
The children also collected hakea pods from the bottom of this tree...
This eucalypt tree has sap oozing out of it. A red sticky, sweet honey like substance is favoured by brush tailed possums & sugar gliders.
Beautiful Willow... our friend's Golden Retreiver.
In relation to the search for our own little semi-permanent cave, we have been offered a place in Terrigal. Unsure if it is the right place for us - I'm waiting a couple of days to decide & to see if something 'better' turns up. We will only be there for 18 months before we hit the road to travel for some time in a bus around Oz. One of our main reasons & destinations is to take the children to the spiritual centre of Australia, also known as the Anahata chakra of the world - Uluru.
The following quote is from a very comprehensive Jewish website, chabad.org; this quote has really helped me a great deal over the last month of having very up & down security issues - based in mooladhara chakra - over having to find & move to a new place.
What is this world comparable to? To the water wheel in the garden: the clay bowls on the bottom rise filled, and the upper ones descend empty. In the same way, not everyone who is rich today is rich tomorrow, nor is one who is poor today poor tomorrow. Why? Because the world is a wheel.
- Midrash Rabbah, Shemot 31
