Over the weekend I spent a lot of time around North Sydney. I was working at the Buddhist Council & did a little temple hoping too. I went to the Hare Krishna Temple & to the Mary MacKillop Place. Pope Benedict XVI has announced that Mary MacKillop will become Australia's first saint. The canonisation will take place in Rome on Sunday 17 October.
Here I found majesty, quiet & the feeling of her presence.
After a very wet Sydney weekend I came home to the fire, happy children, Dazla & this magnificent cake he made. It is Nigella Lawson's Guinness Cake. It is meant to resemble the head of a Guinness beer. My goodness, this cake is so moist, full of flavour & goes extremely well with a hot coffee.

The heart of Mary MacKillop Place is the Memorial Chapel, which holds the tomb of Mary MacKillop. The Mary MacKillop Memorial Chapel at Mount Street, North Sydney.
