Things about me

1.       I have a cello & want to learn how to play it.

2.       I have a tattoo & don’t want another.

3.       I love cats.

4.       I am still trying to be myself after 37 years.

5.       Tap dancing is a new/old found love.

6.       Gratitude is my main topic of prayer.

7.       My parent’s rock.

8.       I love sitting on the lounge watching tv shows from my childhood.

9.       I still love to sit in the laundry when the dryer is on & smell the warm, fragrant air around

Things I like

Finding or rather making time to craft is challenging for me. It is tricky to organise time around two little children. I want to make lots of beautiful things but whipping something out for even half an hour proves troublesome when the three year old is vying for attention & the baby is holding for dear life onto my skirt. At least I can think about these projects, collect & look at fabric. Now, looking at fabric one of my new favourite hobbies. Here are some other things I like.

1.       Staring at beautiful corners of the house.

2.     Looking at, studying & imbibing the essence of flowers.

3.       Watching prayer flags billowing out their message.

4.       Laughing at my own jokes, made up songs & dances that sometimes the children don’t get.

5.       Eating hot bread smeared with butter washed down with Grenache.

6.       Granache ~ my new red.

    

Yogi

Yogi is delicious. I've heard this of cats, they supposedly taste like chicken. But being vegetarians, Yogi is safe. We have just had the biggest dust storm in 70 years causing a film of red oxide to cover each & every surface, every little nook & cranny, everywhere. Five days later it is still to be found settling & tomorrow we anticipate a southerly wind that may blow it back to where it came from, the Simpson Desert. Yogi is lovely it is true, he is also powdered with this red dust. He only drinks fresh water from the bath tub tap. The floor of the tub is covered in red mud.

Let's start at the very beginning

Starting a blog or internet diary is a little scary as one is required to write daily, preferably, make it interesting for the reader & look good with the appropriate photos & so forth. Of course these are my own expectations. I should totally forget about them & just write, see how go & realistically enjoy doing it. Why am I doing a blog anyway? To document our family’s little journey of life along the spiritual path. Living it would seem is a beautiful thing where small details are easily forgotten. I’m talking about ... tonight for dinner we ate a combination of three different styles of food. Thrown together this meal made both Dazla & I moan with delight. Fresh out of the oven Italian crostini, Mexican beans, avocado mashed with salt & lemon juice & sour cream. Daz made yummy watermelon & mint cocktails. Now I’m not just talking about a food blog here. The children make for interesting anecdotes & startling teachings. For us, & for most parents, the children will provide the lessons we need to learn in this beautiful, enchanting journey called life.
